Once again we're holding our popular winter season Arts & Crafts Sale. Artists and crafters, like anyone, tend to accumulate too much stuff. However, when their studios fill up, others can benefit! You'll find supplies and handmade artwork or crafts at reduced prices.

At past events, shoppers could find anything from watercolor paper, frames, and paint kits, to fabric, used equipment, tools, and how-to books on assorted topics. Throw in finished artwork and crafts being sold at reduced prices, and you have a great opportunity to find a good deal on original art and handcrafted products, stock up on supplies, or discover a new hobby.

Reception: Splash of Color
Sunday, May 7, 2:00-4:00pm

As Norma Montaigne enjoys working with different textures and mediums, she believes every idea can be executed in a number of ways. Color can be bold or soft; paint can be thick or washed out; surfaces can be wood, canvas, paper or of a three dimensional character. Each texture or medium is a calculated choice used to convey the concept, knowing that no one medium can solve every idea. She says searching for different mediums leads her to interesting places: “Experimenting challenges my every day and thought.” ‘Splash of Color' is a a collection of her vibrant and varied work.

New Music On The Point Festival presents:
Morton Feldman's "Crippled Symmetry"

Wednesday, June 14, 8:00pm

New Music on the Point Festival is a two-week contemporary music program located on Lake Dunmore. This performance will be given by faculty members of the camp: Tim Munro (flute), Amy Williams (piano), and Jan Williams (percussion).

Morton Feldman's 90-minute masterpiece, 'Crippled Symmetry', was written in 1983 for a trio of flutes, vibraphone/glockenspiel and piano. It is a shimmering, meditative musical distillation of the abstract paintings of Mark Rothko and Persian rugs. The work was composed for the Feldman Soloists, which included the legendary percussionist, Jan Williams. Williams will be one of the performers in this concert. He will be accompanied by composer/pianist Amy Williams, Artistic Director of New Music On The Point, and Tim Munro, former flutist of the four-time Grammy winning ensemble, Eighth Blackbird. A rare opportunity to experience first-hand the mystery and beauty of Feldman's music.

Goodwill donation at the door.

"You do not listen to a work by Morton Feldman so much as you enter into it, assimilate its distinctive sound world and gradually come to inhabit it on your own terms." (The New York TImes)

Reception: Natural Affection
Friday, August 25, 5:00-7:00pm

Susan Bull Riley's primary muse is Vermont's natural world, which was hers to explore as she grew up in a family that spent as much time outdoors as in. “Natural Affection” reflects three facets of her work: a love of botanical watercolor, a bottomless affection for birds, and a need to release, via art, the intensity of her affection for the landscapes of her native state.

Meet Susan and enjoy light refreshments as we open this new stunning exhibit.
